Jlab GO 4 GB- Waterproof/Sweatproof/Sports MP3 Player Headphones

Ever experienced breaking your MP3 headset’s cord while working out because it’s getting in the way? Does your sweat cause the earbuds to fall out or worse damage them? Well, say goodbye to your wired MP3 because the Jlab GO will change the way you work out. It is the perfect workout companion.

This headphone and MP3 is 100% fully submersible, waterproof and sweatproof. IP Waterproof rating is IPX8. You won’t notice time flying by when doing your laps because you get to listen to your jam for hours. It has 4GB built-in memory and 190-mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which promises up to 10 hours of playtime. It supports MP3 and WMA files.

The headphones look like Bluetooth headsets when worn. The MP3 is built-in to the headphones. Two small rectangular boxes hold the earpieces. The right one conveniently houses the volume, track, shuffle and play/pause controls. A very thin band holds the earpieces together and goes to the back of your head. It easily gets hidden behind your hair.

The Jlab Go is ultra-light and thin. Using the right size earbuds will keep it in place even when you sweat or swim. Jlab obviously put much thought in that and included various silicone tips in small, medium and large. There is separate silicone for land and water.

Charging and programming are hassle-free using a mini USB cable. Its plug and play are compatible for both PC and Mac. The USB port on the player is covered by a piece of plastic that you twist in order to create a seal. It does have the tendency to break so the manufacturer provided an extra cover.  Just don’t forget to put back the cover or you may damage the unit.

Downloading music is easy. You just need to drag and drop into the MP3’s folder. 4GB is a lot of space for music. Provided your songs are 5mb each, you can put about 800 to a thousand songs in there. You’ll never get bored with repetitive music.

We found the sound quality acceptable but not great. It’s loud and clear although a little lacking in bass. Compared to other headphones, it’s not on top of the list. But it does great in noise reduction so you can concentrate more on your workout and enjoy it at the same time.

Sound diminishes while swimming if the earbuds get a little loose so make sure you put the right size in. If you pull it out of your ear, there should be a sort of suction so it wouldn’t pop out of your ear.

Overall, the Jlab Go is the ideal sports MP3. If you’ve been searching for a player to add to your sports bag, this one is worth a try. It’s inexpensive and well designed. It nails all your sports MP3 player needs. You can go running, hiking, biking, and even snowboarding with it. The battery will last for hours or even days.

Going to the gym will certainly be more fun. Lift weights while wearing it and not be bothered by others’ panting and grunting. You’ll be able to swim more laps because you wouldn’t get bored even while in the water.

Dance yourself into shape and not have a cord dangling from your pocket. It’s light and the easy access controls make it easy to switch songs while on the move. Packing it is an issue though as it doesn’t come with a carrying case. Just improvise and put it in a safe pocket.
